1)SUPER SOAKER:-
What you need: BASF`s Super Absorbent, water, salt water, 2 small glasses & plastic measuring cylinders ( 25 / 50 ml capacity)
What should you do: Add water in one measuring cylinder up to 50 ml. mark & salt water in to another cylinder. Add a pinch of Super Absorbent into both the measuring cylinders.
Observation: After 3 minutes you will see that the water in the first cylinder disappears and in its place there is a thick jelly-like material formed. Even if this cylinder is turned up side down, the water doesn’t fall. In the other cylinder containing salt water, a lesser amount of jelly-like material is formed.
Explanation: Super Absorbent has a fantastic capacity to hold (absorb) normal water and a fairly good capacity to absorb body fluids, which are similar to salt water.
Applications: Super Absorbent is used in diapers, cooling pads, ice bags, agriculture, cables etc.
2)LIQUID CONCRETE:-
What should you do: Add water in one measuring cylinder up to 50 ml. mark & salt water in to another cylinder. Add a pinch of Super Absorbent into both the measuring cylinders.

What should you do: Take 3 spoons of sand, 1 spoon of cement and start mixing. While mixing add 3 spoons of water. Mix well for a minute. Concrete is formed. It is thick and not flowable. Add 1 spoon of BASF`s Super Plasticizer and mix the concrete thoroughly for a minute.
Observation: Slowly the concrete which was hard before adding Super Plasticizer becomes liquid and flowable.
Explanation: The special property - dispersing power - of the Super Plasticizer mixes cement and sand particles in the water, thus homogenizing the concrete mixture.
Applications: Super Plasticizer has major applications in the construction industry.
